Pat Herrity

After over 25 years of active business, sports and civic community leadership and experience, Pat Herrity was elected Springfield District Supervisor in November 2007. He was raised in Fairfax County, is a 1978 graduate of West Springfield High School and received a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Virginia Tech in 1982.

His sister, two of his brothers and many other relatives still reside in Northern Virginia. Being lifelong residents of Northern Virginia, the issues that face us are of critical importance to Pat and his entire family.

As the son of the former Fairfax Board of County Supervisors Chairman Jack Herrity, Pat grew up attending community meetings and county budget hearings. Pat was raised with the issues of Fairfax County and Northern Virginia regularly discussed at home and he did not have to look far for a mentor on how to lead and give back to the community. Until Jack’s death in 2006, Pat and his dad would discuss county issues several times a day.

Having spent his entire life here, Pat has a unique understanding of Northern Virginia and its needs. First as a business and community leader and now as a Supervisor, Pat has actively led efforts to implement transportation solutions. As a result of his efforts, he received the President’s Award and the Community Service Award from NVTC and the Chairman’s Award from the Fairfax County Chamber. He is the only Supervisor to ever receive the President’s Award from the Fairfax County Federation of Teachers.

Pat is currently a financial consultant with a minority woman owned training company, where he has a reputation as a “go-to” guy who possesses the leadership, management, and financial skills to get the job done. Pat also serves on the Advisory Board of Cordia Partners a full-service provider of outsourced accounting, technology and business process consulting, and executive search and recruiting services Pat has used his award winning financial skills to promote an agenda of fiscal responsibility and transparency on the Board of Supervisors.
